恭读米该亚先知书 6:1-4, 6-8
惟愿你们倾听上主所说的话：“起来，在诸山面前进行诉讼，使诸丘陵能听见你的声音！” 诸山！请听上主的申诉；大地的基础，侧耳聆听吧！因为上主与他的人民有所争讼，与以色列有所争辩：“我的人民！我对你做了什么？我在什么事上叫你讨厌？请你答复我！难道是因为我由埃及地领了你上来，从奴隶之家赎了你回来，在你面前委派了梅瑟、亚郎和米黎盎？” “我要到上主那里，叩拜至高者天主，应进献什么？应进献全燔祭，还是应进献一岁的牛犊？上主岂喜悦万千的公羊，或万道河流的油？为了我的过犯，我应否献上我的长子？为了我灵魂的罪恶，我应否献上我亲生的儿子？” 人啊！上主已通知了你什么是善，上主要求于你的是什么：无非就是履行正义，爱好慈善，虚心与你的天主来往。

A reading from the book of the Prophet Micah 6:1-4, 6-8
Hear what the LORD says:
Arise, present your plea before the mountains,
and let the hills hear your voice!
Hear, O mountains, the plea of the LORD,
pay attention, O foundations of the earth!
For the LORD has a plea against his people,
and he enters into trial with Israel.
O my people, what have I done to you,
or how have I wearied you? Answer me!
For I brought you up from the land of Egypt,
from the place of slavery I released you;
and I sent before you Moses,
Aaron, and Miriam.
With what shall I come before the LORD,
and bow before God most high?
Shall I come before him with burnt offerings,
with calves a year old?
Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams,
with myriad streams of oil?
Shall I give my first-born for my crime,
the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
You have been told, O man, what is good,
and what the LORD requires of you:
Only to do the right and to love goodness,
and to walk humbly with your God.

那时，有几个经师和法利塞人对耶稣说：“师傅，我们愿意你显示一个征兆给我们看。”他回答他们说：“邪恶淫乱的世代要求征兆，但除了约纳先知的征兆外，必不给它其他的征兆。有如约纳曾在大鱼腹中三天三夜：同样，人子也要在地里三天三夜。尼尼微人在审判时，将同这一代人起来，定他们的罪，因为尼尼微人因了约纳的宣讲而悔改了；看，这里有一位大于约纳的！南方的女王，在审判时，将同这一代人起来，而定他们的罪，因为她从地极而来，听撒罗满的智慧；看，这里有一位大于撒罗满的！”
Gospel
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew 12:38-42
Some of the scribes and Pharisees said to Jesus,
“Teacher, we wish to see a sign from you.”
He said to them in reply,
“An evil and unfaithful generation seeks a sign,
but no sign will be given it
except the sign of Jonah the prophet.
Just as Jonah was in the belly of the whale three days and three nights,
so will the Son of Man be in the heart of the earth
three days and three nights.
At the judgment, the men of Nineveh will arise with this generation
and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah;
and there is something greater than Jonah here.
At the judgment the queen of the south will arise with this generation
and condemn it, because she came from the ends of the earth
to hear the wisdom of Solomon;
and there is something greater than Solomon here.”
